This landscape painting captures a serene mountain scene from the Italian Alps, a place that holds deep personal significance for me, as it’s a view I see every day from my home. In this piece, I’ve depicted the mountain in the afternoon light, when the sun strikes it perfectly, highlighting its natural volume and warmth. It was spring when I created this work, and while the grass on the mountain's peak remained yellow from the lingering cold, the sunlight painted the mountain with a captivating orange glow. The sky, transitioning from cool blue to warmer turquoise hues, signaled the approach of sunset.
I’ve always been fascinated by how the light changes the mountain's character throughout the day, but this particular moment, when the sun bathes it from the side, is one of my favorites.
